The Brazilian government announces a milestone achievement in expanding its agricultural markets, with the Sultanate of Oman's approval of the International Veterinary Certificate (IVC) model proposed by Brazil for live goat and sheep exports. This approval, while not yet leading to immediate exports, marks a significant step towards entering a new market, with the final decision dependent on local importer requests and veterinary quarantine facility accreditations in Brazil. This development is part of a broader strategy by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) to expand into 170 new markets in 2024 and 248 since 2023, covering 60 countries, in an effort to boost the global competitiveness of Brazilian agribusiness.
