Brazil exports 1.37 million tons of rice from January to September 2023

Brazilian exports of rice (husk basis) reached 1 million and 370 thousand tons from January to September 2023. The volume represents an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period in 2022, when Brazil shipped 1 million and 295 thousand t. In revenue, year-to-date shipments totaled US$481.3 million, an increase of 22.2% compared to the US$393.9 million recorded in the previous nine months. The numbers were released this Wednesday (10) by the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz), based on data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC). Also according to Abiarroz, in September rice exports (husk basis) totaled 81,785 t, representing US$ 33.3 million. In volume, shipments fell 53.8% compared to the same period in 2022, when they reached 176,844.
