Brazil is expected to harvest 178.1 million tons of soybeans in the 2025/26 season, an increase of 6 million tons, or 3.5%, from the 172.1 million tons of the previous season. The projection by Agroconsult was presented during an event of the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec), held yesterday (27) in São Paulo. The planted area is expected to reach 48.8 million hectares, an increase of 2.1% from the 47.8 million hectares of 2024/25. Of the total expected increase in production, 3.6 million tons should come from the expansion of the area and 2.3 million tons from the improvement in productivity. According to Pessôa, an important part of the yield gain is linked to the recovery of Rio Grande do Sul, which suffered losses in the past season.
