Brazil is expected to lead the growth in global orange juice production in the 2024/25 harvest and account for 70% of exports of the commodity, according to projections from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). World orange juice production is expected to grow 4% compared to the previous cycle, reaching 1.4 million tons. The growth is driven by Brazil, which is expected to increase its production by 9%, to 1 million tons, with a greater volume of oranges destined for processing, according to the American institution. In early February, Fundecitrus raised its estimate for the 2024/25 harvest, now forecast at 228.52 million 40.8 kg boxes, an increase of 2.4% compared to the previous projection released in December. The revision takes into account the well-distributed rainfall in recent months, which favored fruit growth.
