Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) has suspended poultry and product exports to 44 countries following an outbreak of Newcastle disease in a commercial establishment in Anta Gorda, Rio Grande do Sul, due to bilateral agreement international health certificate requirements. The suspension includes poultry meat, eggs, and products for animal feed, with exceptions for products subjected to heat treatment. The restrictions vary from a nationwide suspension to a 50 km radius around the outbreak. Rio Grande do Sul, the country's third-largest chicken meat exporter, has exported 354 thousand tons in the first half of the year, generating revenue of US$630 million despite the suspension.
