Brazil appears among the countries with the highest recovery in wine production in 2025, according to the report released by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) last week. The estimate for the country is 2.9 million hectoliters, a strong increase of 38% compared to 2024 and 15% above the average of the last five years. According to the OIV, the Brazilian leap was mainly driven by favorable weather in the producing regions, with rainfall during the winter and drier conditions in the spring and summer, ensuring proper development of the vines and elevating the performance of the wineries. In South America, the scenario is mixed. Argentina, the largest producer in the region, is expected to reach 10.7 million hectoliters, an increase of 11% compared to 2024, although still 2% below the five-year average.
