The Brazilian delegation at the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) is advocating for the maintenance of the current 6,043-ton yellowfin tuna catch quota. They are supporting a global catch limit of 73,000 tons and proposing criteria for its fair distribution among member countries. The goal is to achieve a balance between developed and developing countries and to support the development of fisheries in Latin America and Africa. Negotiations will continue until November, when a decisive meeting will be held in Egypt.
