China has opened four new markets for Brazilian agricultural products, including fresh grapes, sesame, sorghum, fishmeal, fish oil, and other fish proteins, following agreements signed during a bilateral meeting between Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Chinese President Xi Jinping. These markets, established under the phytosanitary and sanitary requirements set by the General Administration of Customs of China, are expected to potentially generate up to US$ 450 million in trade annually. Brazil, which has already gained access to 281 agricultural markets in 2023, is hoping to surpass US$ 500 million in trade with these products, given China's high demand and Brazil's increasing reliability as a supplier.
