A study by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) has revealed that Brazil's organic food production is lower than the international average. The country ranked last in traded organic products in 2019, with the United States in first place. Despite the low production, the organic agriculture market in Brazil grew by 30% in 2020, reaching BRL 5.8 billion. However, the sector faces challenges such as lack of information and low production compared to countries like China. Brazil is notably efficient in organic sugar production, accounting for about 60% of the global market, and is also a significant producer of organic hives.
