In August 2024, Brazil achieved a record in beef exports, with a total of 248,061 tons and revenue of US$ 1.072 billion, marking the best results for the month of August. This growth represents a 16.5% increase in volume and a 13.7% increase in revenue compared to the previous year. From January to August 2024, Brazil exported 1.8 million tons of beef, generating revenue of US$ 7.9 billion, a 27.9% increase compared to the previous year. The growth in exports is due to collective efforts by the sector and the Federal Government to open new markets, with China being the largest market. There has also been a significant increase in demand from the European Union, particularly due to the anticipation of new EUDR rules. Other countries like the Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Mexico, and Israel have also shown notable increases in beef purchases.
