BSCA affirms that the Brazil-U.S. meeting represents a concrete perspective for tariff exemption.

The Brazilian Special Coffees Association (BSCA) stated that the meeting between the presidents of the United States, Donald Trump, and Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, today in Malaysia represents a concrete perspective for a solution to the tariffs applied to the coffee sector. "It is an opportunity for the two economies to overcome the trade obstacle," it said in a statement.

The BSCA highlighted that the eventual removal of the tariffs can intensify the partnership between the two countries and the presence of Brazilian special coffee in the American market. The U.S. is the main importing market for Brazil's special coffees, acquiring approximately 2 million bags of the product, with a revenue exceeding $550 million annually.

In a statement, the association reinforced the importance of dialogue in the attempt to reverse the taxation presented to the product, so that jobs and income are preserved, as well as a partnership built over decades between the actors of the two nations.
