In the Rangpur Agriculture Region, farmers have reported a significant increase in garlic production during the recent Rabi season, reaching a total of 28,151 tonnes from 3,509 hectares of land, surpassing the target by 140 tonnes. This success is attributed to the use of advanced technologies and assistance from agricultural organizations, resulting in an average yield of 8.02 tonnes per hectare. The region's districts, including Rangpur, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, and Nilphamari, saw substantial production contributions, with farmers showing a growing interest in expanding garlic cultivation and embracing eco-friendly practices like zero tillage.
