Ukrainians should prepare for the rising prices of vegetables, berries, and fruits by the end of summer. Due to spring frosts, the yield of several crops has significantly decreased. Director of the Lviv Department of Agro-Industrial Development, Lyudmyla Honcharenko, told agronews that early vegetables, rapeseed, and especially the berry and fruit group, including currants, blueberries, cherries, plums, and sweet cherries, were most affected by the weather. According to her, losses for strawberries in some farms reached up to 50%. It is noted that the yield of the berry and fruit group will decrease by an average of 20-22%, which will impact prices, raising them by 20-30%. At the same time, she pointed out that for farmers who planted zucchini, potatoes, and beets, losses are estimated at 10-20%, so prices will rise this summer.
