Café: high prices favor purchasing power of producers

The purchasing power of coffee growers for key fertilizers is considered good this year. This is indicated by surveys from the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea). According to the institute, the prices for a 60 kg bag of arabica coffee are operating around R$ 2,200 and those for robusta are above R$ 1,350 per bag, which increases the purchasing power of the farmers. In October, producers in the state of São Paulo need 1.16 bags of arabica type 6 to acquire one ton of the 20-00-20 formulated fertilizer, compared to the result of 1.44 bags in the same month of 2024 and the 2.6 bags of the historical average, starting in 2011. ...
