Livestock prices in Egypt have experienced a significant increase, with each head now costing between 2000-4000 pounds more than two days ago. The rise in prices is attributed to a decrease in supply, increased demand for fattening ahead of the next Eid al-Adha, and extreme weather conditions. The cost per kilo varies across regions, with Upper Egypt seeing a 10 pound increase to 270-280 pounds, and Cairo and Giza reaching 320 pounds. The prices for different types of meat and beef mixtures have also gone up, affecting the cost of butcher shop products and commercial chains.
