Mozambique: Cashew nut production will reach 160 thousand yons in the 2023-24 agricultural campaign

The head of Mozambique's Almond Promotion and Production Department, Paulino Sitoe, revealed that cashew nut production could reach 160 thousand tons in the 2023-24 agricultural campaign, compared to the 157 thousand previously recorded. According to the person responsible for the southern region of the country, the current scenario indicates that there are great possibilities for good production and marketing of chestnuts, despite the forecast of torrential rains during the campaign. “In the north, the drop in rainfall will not affect production and harvest, meaning producers need to strictly observe the procedures. Positive expectations also cover the central area”, he explained.
