A meeting by specialists from various agencies and institutions, including the Federal Agency for Fisheries and the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography, focused on discussing the state of commercial species stocks, advancements in artificial reproduction and protection of aquatic bioresources, and setting plans for 2025. The outcome of the meeting included the decision to maintain the ban on commercial sturgeon fishing and the absence of export quotas for sturgeon caviar and meat in 2025, with sturgeon to be caught only for scientific purposes and breeding. The Russian side also suggested organizing a Forum of Fishermen of the Caspian States and publishing an annual bulletin of the Caspian Commission, along with a scientific collection to mark the anniversary of research in the Caspian Sea.
