[Rural and Fisheries News=Reporter Nara Park] To fundamentally resolve the agricultural land flooding damage that recurs every rainy season in Cheonan City, the city is fully pushing forward a large-scale drainage improvement project. On the 24th, the city held a resident briefing meeting for the "Balsan-Jangsan District Drainage Improvement Project" to explain the project details and future plans to local residents. The Balsan-Jangsan District (92.3 hectares in Balsan-ri and Jangsan-ri, Susin-myeon) is a representative area where chronic flooding damage occurs during heavy rains. Cheonan City is investing 16.6 billion won in national funds to push forward structural improvements including the installation of gate pumps, the establishment of drainage gates, the maintenance of drainage channels, and backfilling. This project is under a trust agreement with the Korea Rural Community Corporation.
