(Cheorwon=Yonhap News) Reporter Yang Ji-woong = The Gangwon Cheorwon Agricultural Technology Center will accept applications for the supply of 5 varieties of subsidized corn to farmers until the 26th of this month.
The varieties of corn being accepted this time include 3 varieties of glutinous corn (Mi-baek 2-ho, Mi-heuk-chal, Heuk-jeom 2-ho), 1 variety for processing (Gang-il-ok), and 1 variety for popcorn (O-ryun popcorn), totaling 5 varieties and 81.2 tons to be distributed.
Subsidized corn can be applied for at the nearest town, township, or city hall citizen center until the 26th of this month.
Glutinous corn is priced at 26,000 won per kilogram, processed corn is priced at 28,000 won per 2 kilograms, and popcorn corn is priced at 35,000 won per kilogram.
The applied corn is scheduled to be supplied from February 9 to March 6 of next year.
An official from the Cheorwon Agricultural Technology Center said on the 10th, "If this opportunity is missed, there are no additional plans for the supply of subsidized corn next year, so we ask that all necessary farmers apply without fail."
