The Brazilian government is pleased with the approval of health certificates for the import of poultry meat, mechanically separated chicken meat, and boneless beef cuts from Brazil by the Papua New Guinean authorities. Exports will be initiated by Brazilian industrial plants that were inspected and approved by the Papuan government last year. These approvals mark the beginning of access to the poultry meat market for Brazilian agribusiness in Papua New Guinea, a country with a population of 9 million, the second most populous in Oceania. This development is a result of collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE). This opening marks Brazil's 119th market opening in 2024, with a total of 197 new opportunities in 59 destinations since 2023.
