Brazil exports twelve different chicken meat items identified by the Common Mercosur Nomenclature, including cuts, whole chicken, industrialized products, and salted chicken meat. The volume of frozen chicken meat exports represented over 99% of the total in 2023, with only a small amount of fresh or refrigerated products being exported to neighboring countries. Over a decade, the volume of exported chicken meat increased by almost 30%, with the biggest increase being in chicken cuts, while whole chicken and industrialized products saw declines in both volume and share of total exports.
