The cherry sector experienced a successful season in the 2022-2023 period, with a 17% increase in exports compared to the previous year, despite challenges such as social unrest and logistical issues. Chile was the leading exporter in the southern hemisphere, accounting for 97% of the region's shipments, while Argentina and New Zealand experienced slight decreases and increases in exports, respectively. In the northern hemisphere, Asia, particularly China and Turkey, dominated exports. Overall, cherry exports from the southern hemisphere made up 48% of the global total in 2022.
