The Chilean Citrus Committee has reported a growth of 32% in lemon exports to Japan this season compared to the previous one, making Japan the second largest market after the U.S. The total lemon exports to the U.S. and Japan last season were 41,594 Metric tons and 17,028 Metric tons respectively. The U.S. and Chile collectively contribute 41% and 38% to Japan’s lemon market respectively, with the U.S. being the largest supplier from February through May, and Chile from May to September.
