The Chilean stone fruit industry is rebounding with notable export growth to China and the U.S. This season, 56% of stone fruits were exported to China, marking a 25% increase in volume and a 5% rise in value, while 19% went to the U.S., with a slight 1% drop in volume but a 20% increase in value. Key varieties like loquats, nectarines, and prunes saw significant export volume increases. China, the U.S., and Brazil are top markets for loquats, while nectarines are mainly exported to China, the U.S., and the Netherlands. Peaches have newly entered the Chinese market. The Chilean Stone Fruit Committee stresses the importance of promoting stone fruit consumption and their health benefits to build a strong brand, particularly in Asia.
