Chile has seen a significant increase in its olive oil exports, with Brazil being the largest market, exporting $27 million worth of olive oil, nearly double the amount from the previous year. The United States and Spain followed suit, with exports valued at $18 million and $12 million respectively, marking a substantial increase from the previous year. The European market also showed strong demand, with exports valued at $23 million, doubling from the previous year, especially to Italy. Chile's Director of the Chilean Export Promotion Agency, Ignacio Fernandez, credited the success to the country's ability to adapt to international price and demand trends, sustainable production, reputation as a safe food exporter, and high-quality olive oil. Exports are projected to reach $115 million in 2023, a 63% increase from 2022, due to declining production in major olive oil producers like Spain.
