A seminar titled 'China-Ukraine Trade Prospects for Beans, Grains and Oilseeds' was held online, with key participation from officials like Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Fan Xianrong and the Uzbek Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Agriculture. The event aimed at exploring the potential of agricultural trade between China and Ukraine. In 2020, China's economic and trade volume with Ukraine grew by 21%, making China the country's largest trading partner. The trade primarily focuses on agricultural exports from Uzbekistan to China, including corn, barley, sunflower oil, and oilseed meal, and is expected to expand to include soybeans, peas, beef, pork, berries, and organic agricultural products. The Uzbek government is keen to enhance cooperation with China for exporting more quality agricultural products. The seminar also saw participation from over 200 agricultural trade companies from both countries, aiming to improve agricultural and food trade relations.
