Chile has experienced a notable growth in its fresh fruit exports in the initial two months of the year, with the United States, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom being the top markets. The surge is led by a 26.4% increase in cherry exports, amounting to $1.943 billion, and a 44.2% growth in blueberry exports. The recent opening of the Chinese market to Chilean peaches and nectarines has further propelled exports, particularly in February. Lorena Sepúlveda, Director of ProChile, emphasized the sector's significance and the ongoing efforts to promote Chilean fruit globally, in anticipation of ProChile's 50th anniversary in 2024.
