In recent years, China has been Vietnam's third largest seafood export market, accounting for 15% of Vietnam's total exports. In 2019, the trade volume of the Chinese market surpassed that of Europe and the United States. However, in the first half of 2020, the export value of Vietnamese shrimp and pangasius products decreased due to historically low prices, but there is optimism for improvement in the second half of the year as the demand for Vietnamese seafood in the international market improves.
