China has temporarily halted the purchase of cattle meat from two US plants, the Swift Beef Co. in Greeley, Colorado, owned by JBS, and Cool Port of Oakland, California, due to the presence of ractopamine, a feed additive not allowed in China. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) confirmed the issue. The suspension does not impact other JBS operations in the US, and negotiations are underway to resolve the issue.
