China is projected to become the world's leading pork producer in 2024, accounting for 46% of global pork production with an output of 56.8 million tonnes. This is a result of rapid farm rebuilding following a decline in pig herds due to African swine fever. The US and Spain will follow in second and third place with 12.7 million tonnes and 4.8 million tonnes respectively. Over the past decade, there has been varied trends in pork production among countries, with some increasing while others decreasing. The top ten pork producing countries collectively account for over 75% of total global pork production.
