Starting January 1, 2022, China will reduce import customs duties on 954 goods, including substitutes for whole milk, dry whey, and various cheeses, as part of a plan to reduce the financial burden on the population and stimulate green low-carbon development. The temporary import customs duty rates will be lower than most favored nation (MFN) tariffs. However, previously reduced import duties on certain goods will be canceled, and higher MFN tariffs will apply. Russia, as China's most favored trade partner, will benefit from a temporary duty reduction on dry whey and certain cheeses, with up to 70% reduction for goods of Russian origin.
