Poland is actively working on an agreement with China to export poultry meat, despite outbreaks of bird flu in the country. This regionalization effort, aimed at resuming exports to China, involves setting up a road map to identify bird flu-free areas for poultry meat export. Despite the detection of bird flu in 26 poultry outbreaks and three captive bird outbreaks, along with 21 outbreaks in wild birds this year, the process is moving forward. Nine plants have already obtained registration to export to China, with over 20 more interested. This regionalization strategy is seen as crucial for maintaining export fluidity and has been successful in securing access to the Chinese market for Polish poultry, as well as markets in Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines.
