Peru: Chulucanas producers migrated to mango and changed their lives

(Agraria.pe) A quarter of a century ago, the potential of mango led a group of 40 producers from Chulucanas (Piura) to come together to take advantage of the strong demand for the product in the local and foreign market, in pursuit of the development of their community and a better quality of life. This is how, after sending a first container of mango to the Netherlands, a process in which they were supported by a prelature, they decided to create what is today the Association of Mango Producers of Alto Piura (Apromalpi), a cooperative of small producers mango, which to date already has 149 partners.
