In the Chungbuk region, rice purchase prices by agricultural cooperatives are being determined one after another. Despite a significant increase compared to last year, farmers are not showing satisfaction. The first to decide on the purchase price was the Jincheon-Jeungpyeong Agricultural Cooperative Rice Corporation. They set the price for special top-grade rice under the Alcanmi contract at 72,000 won. The top-grade purchase price is 70,000 won. Special top-grade is defined as having a milling yield of 82% or higher, so in effect, the purchase price for special top-grade is the same as for top-grade at 70,000 won. For general rice outside the contract, special top-grade is 70,000 won and top-grade is 68,000 won. Cheongwon Life Rice Corporation, which decided on the purchase price on the first day, set the price for special top-grade rice under the contract at 73,000 won and for top-grade at 71,000 won. For general rice outside the contract, special top-grade is 70,000 won.
