Ethiopian coffee beans have gained significant popularity in China through e-commerce platforms, driven by the China International Import Expo (CIIE). The CIIE has facilitated the transformation of exhibits into commodities, boosting Ethiopian coffee sales in China by 27% annually, with 20,000 tons imported in 2023. This platform has also promoted other Ethiopian agricultural products like sesame and mung beans, strengthening China-Ethiopia trade relations. Additionally, various business and media entities, including Alibaba and Ethiopia FANA Broadcasting Corporation, are engaging in initiatives to foster business innovation and economic development in Ethiopia.
