The National Government, through the Ministry of Transport, led an inter-institutional meeting aimed at socializing the regulation governing the transportation of live animals. This event was framed within the provisions of Decree 1017 of 2025 and current regulations, with the objective of ensuring operations that comply with the principles of animal welfare, legality, traceability, and safety. During the session, the conditions under which the movement of live cattle can be carried out were specified. It was established that direct contracting for this service is only allowed when the agreement is made between the animal owner and the owner of the public service vehicle or their representative.
