Recent adverse weather conditions, characterized by intense rain and high temperatures in São Paulo's green belt, have severely affected the production of curly lettuce, leading to a slowdown in planting and significant damage to the plantations. As a result, there has been a considerable increase in the discard rates and a notable reduction in supply, which has subsequently caused the prices of curly lettuce in Ibiúna to surge by 32.18%, reaching R$35.83 per box of 20 plants. Similarly, iceberg lettuce in Mogi das Cruzes has seen an 11.7% price increase, with costs rising to R$43.75 per box of 12 units.
