COAG applauds the Supreme Court ruling that overturns the pig density tables for lack of economic rigor.

The Coordinadora de Organizaciones de Agricultores y Ganaderos (COAG) celebrates the ruling of the Supreme Court that annuls the tables approved in 2023 to increase the minimum space required by weaned piglets and group-raised production pigs. According to the agricultural organization, the judicial resolution "strongly confirms the claims filed by COAG and gives reason to the pig farmers, whose economic future was directly threatened by a poorly designed regulation without sufficient technical-economic support." The High Court concludes that the Government approved these requirements without a minimally rigorous economic impact report, clearly failing to comply with the legal obligations that guarantee that any regulation with productive effects must be accompanied by a serious and transparent evaluation.
