Codevasf expands benefits for settlement of debts of irrigators and external users

The Development Company of the São Francisco and Parnaíba Valleys (Codevasf) has changed some of the criteria for settling debts of irrigators, authorized by Law 13340/2016, related to the sale of lots for titling and use of common irrigation infrastructure in the public irrigation perimeters maintained by the company. Resolution No. 1,784, dated December 18, 2025, expanded access to benefits for external users who use water in Codevasf projects. Now, in addition to irrigators, other users who use the same irrigation structure can also have access to the same benefits. This applies to individuals and companies that use the canals, stations, or irrigation systems of Codevasf's public projects, provided they comply with the legal rules. The new resolution also simplified the documentation requirement in cases where the lot owner has passed away.
