The Ministry of Production in Peru is working to boost the country's coffee production chain, with a focus in 16 regions. This sector generates over 2 million jobs and exports 205 thousand tons of coffee per year. To support the growth of the sector, 140 million soles are being allocated through ProInnovate for the financing of productive units and innovations. The Ministry is also encouraging the consumption of Peruvian coffee and aims to strengthen small and micro businesses in the sector. Additionally, coffee production has an added value of over S/ 883 million and is the first traditional agricultural product for export in Peru.
