But, each year, there has been growing consumer interest in quality coffees, leading young farmers to resume the activity to produce coffee in the agroforestry system. Besides not using pesticides, the system guarantees a product with unparalleled flavor and aromas thanks to the selective collection of ripe beans, among other management particularities. One of these farmers is Gabriel Tambosi, 32, from Rodeio, in the Itajaí Valley, who launched the Café Especial Leopoldo, in 2022, with his wife, Thaís. He started planting the Coffea arabica cultivar in 2017, with seedlings brought from Paraná and São Paulo, and in 2021 he had his first harvest.
