According to Katheryn Mejía, president of Corpohass, the country has already exported 132,445 tons as of August, out of a total projected 182,000 tons for this year. This figure represents a growth of nearly 30% compared to 2024, when exports reached 138,000 tons. The goal of the current season is to divide shipments evenly between Europe and the United States, with 50% for each market. "Up until June, we had already sent 35,000 tons to the United States, and we expect to meet the target of 90,000 tons by the end of the year," Mejía indicated. The strategy aims to take advantage of the availability of production during the 52 weeks of the year, a competitive advantage over other origins such as Peru and California, which have more limited windows.
