Italy: Compensation for periculturists and winemakers ready

Two ministerial decrees have recently been approved for the provision of aid to Italian pear-producing companies, which have been hit by repeated and heterogeneous serious crises in recent years. The first text relating to pear growing modifies the aid regime introduced at the end of 2023 (Masaf decree 13 November 2023 n. 628457). The funds allocated are a total of 18 million euros, in favour of companies that in 2023 suffered a reduction in production value of more than 30% compared to the previous year's figure. Agea determined the unit amount of aid, using the entire available ceiling of 18 million euros, having admitted 3,005 requests for compensation. The other decree approved is a measure with which 15 million euros were allocated to be used for pear producers who have suffered the effects of the crisis due to concomitant climatic and natural events during 2024.
