The Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine has established conditions for mango exports for the 2022-2023 season to several markets, including South Africa, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Mauritius, Zambia, the Sultanate of Brunei, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Iraq, the Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, the Eurasian Union, and the Kingdom. These conditions include a valid examination certificate, pesticide residue analysis, and compliance with international wooden pallet standards. For South Africa and Lebanon, the farm from which the mangoes are sourced must be on a list approved for export to these countries. Dr. Ahmed Al-Attar, the head of the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine, has also announced a new system for tracking agricultural exports, which includes coding of export farms, adherence to import requirements and international plant health standards, and tracking of exported shipments using GPS technology.
