The Brazilian Association of Biscuit, Pasta and Industrialized Bread & Cakes Industries (Abimapi) predicts that the wheat flour products industry will experience a sales growth of 3% to 5% and a sales volume growth of 2% in 2021. This growth is attributed to the increase in home consumption during the Covid-19 pandemic, as people continue to eat out less due to safety concerns. Despite rising cereal costs, these products remain affordable and are prioritized by the population. However, the first two months of 2021 saw a dip in sales, attributed to a lack of emergency aid leading to reduced purchasing power, but sales are expected to recover in April with the potential return of government financial aid.
