Cooperation and shared growth usher in a new era for the K-marine industry

To enhance international competitiveness and lead the future market, the government, industry, and civil society gathered together to devise measures for K-Ocean Industry. The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries held a two-day training session at the Daejeon KW Convention on the 20th to leap forward as a global leader in K-Ocean. This training session was held nine years after the government and industry discussed preventing IUU (illegal, unreported, unregulated) fishing in March 2016, marking a venue to discuss the vision for a new leap in the ocean industry. Around 100 participants from the government, industry, ocean carriers, transport carriers, and civil society (NGOs) attended the session, where they made presentations on past achievements and future development directions, and held discussions in separate divisions to devise plans for a new leap.
