In the first quarter of 2024, dairy production in the Russian Federation increased by 7%, reaching 2.9 billion liters, as reported by the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT). This growth was mainly driven by a 20% rise in the production of soft, processed, and curd cheese, and a 15% increase in cottage cheese production. Milk production also saw a 3.8% increase, while kefir production slightly declined by 1.3%. The overall rise in production is attributed to growing demand and industry improvements following the introduction of labeling, which has enabled legitimate businesses to expand.
