Cucumbers: How much does Spain pay Moroccan producers?

Spanish cucumber imports: Morocco leads with a historic record. In the 2023/2024 campaign, Spain set a new record in cucumber imports, reaching a total volume of 17.17 million kilos for a value of 21.55 million euros, or an average price of €1.25/kg. Among these imports, Morocco played a predominant role, confirming its status as the leading supplier of cucumbers to Spain with a total share of 79.41% of the volume. Spanish operators imported 13.64 million kilos of cucumbers from Morocco during this campaign, for a total amount of 16.98 million euros, paid at an average price of €1.24/kg. These figures set a new historic record, both in terms of volume and value. Over the past ten years, Spanish imports of Moroccan cucumbers have increased by 143%, reflecting a growing dependence for the supply of this vegetable.
