Yevheniia Khan, co-founder of the farm "Khan" from Poltava region, has been engaged in vegetable farming for over two decades. In greenhouses covering about 2 hectares, the family grows only cucumbers—a monoculture they have not abandoned even during the war. The article on Kurkul.com discusses their cultivation experience. "Our strategy is focused on growing cucumbers. Although the war has started, the military actions in southern Ukraine have reduced the number of vegetables, but we still grow only cucumbers," says Yevheniia Khan. Due to a shortage of workers, the farm is trying to replace manual labor with technology. "We have started using mulch film in open ground. People still weed, but the row remains clean. The film from 'Planeta Plastik' is 30 microns thick. We use black film for eggplants and peppers, and white for watermelons.
