The Çumra district in Konya, Turkey, is experiencing a boost in income due to the cultivation of the Çumra melon, a geographically indicated melon variety known for its unique taste, color, and smell. Planting begins in late April, and the melons are harvested in mid-August. Farmers use specialized techniques and frequent irrigation to ensure high quality. The melons are then sold locally and internationally, with prices ranging from 7 to 13 liras per melon. A significant portion of the melons are also dried and exported to countries such as America and Germany.
